Studio Arts

Part of my undergraduate degree included taking rigorous studio art courses. I have explored several mediums including metals, printmaking, and book arts. These courses developed my love for craftsmanship and physical design pieces.

Jewelry making and metalsmithing allowed me to experiment with an intimidating material. I crafted jewelry before taking these courses, but never anything this intense. I have always loved printmaking and brought these skills to classes I taught at the 577 Foundation. Printmaking is very diverse, pairing well with design.

Book arts taught me unique ways of pagination and folding techniques that can enhance design pieces immensely. These studio courses were challenging, time consuming and unfamiliar territory; but each one greatly influenced my creative process.
