PACK

PACK is a useful, physical representation of design for social activism. Thrifting and secondhand trends have taken over, but so have piles of clothing that don’t get to those in need. PACK serves as a tool for direct donation.

With the rise of secondhand shopping in young adults and millennials comes the concern of overconsumption. Thrifting is not inherently bad, but from personal experience and research it still contributes to the want for something new. Out of many popular trends at least it is eco-friendly.

Whether it is resellers or craving a new outfit, buyers are taking more than they need. Donations pile up in stock rooms and never reach the sales floor to those who may need them most. PACK is a solution to this problem. It encourages assessing belongings and teaches simple mending techniques. So go on, thrift responsibly!
