OH! Flock
OH! Flock is a playful, educational and accessible application prototype designed to encourage people of all ages to get outdoors. This collaborative project allowed my team and I to research the birds and plants that can be seen around local metroparks in Northwest Ohio.
The main features of OH! Flock include an introductory quiz to help users identify birds they have seen, a catalog of all of their birds with indication of sightings and informational pages for both parks and birds. Stereotypically, birding is for older folks, but this application encourages everyone to bird.
Birding is a great way to get outdoors, build community and step away from screens. OH! Flock informs and educates while forming connections between users and their local parks, hopefully leading to increased environmental awareness and advocacy for nature.
